Holds
Strength A study carried out in 1998 by the National Research Council of Canada, classed the Passe Montagne range of climbing holds among the strongest on the market. This year, we have further increased this strength with a more flexible formula that greatly reduces hold breakage during installation. Shapes Designed by a team of climbers from a number of different climbing centers, our shapes are ergonomic, original, varied and utterly straightforward. They will provide you with a higher performance and give you the opportunity to train to the degree of intensity you choose. Inverted texture Gentle on the fingers but strong enough for intensive use. Color 5 colors (mango, mint green, chili red, azure blue and lilac). Each hold model is available in all colors: its your choice. You will therefore be able to use the holds in color-coded combinations; its a simple and eye-pleasing way of route setting. Easy to choose Holds are grouped in 7 formats, the smallest being 01 and the largest 07 (from the size of a large grape to that of a pineapple!). For each format, the holds are placed in order of jugginess, starting with set #1, which is the juggiest, going down to the last set, which is the edgiest. Bolt hole of the holds is reduced to the minimum. Head of bolt is inset into the hold. Length of bolts is always the same (except for size 01). Orientation point on each hold, which is a "must" when route setting for competitions. Zinc-plated bolt included with each hold. Logo is inverted so as not to interfere with climbing. Hollow holds which are also lighter (certain models only). Coefficient of difficulty for the holds The way a climbing hold is used is determined in part by its form and size, but it is also very important to consider the type of climber using the hold. A sloper with an angle of 20° wont be used in quite the same way by beginners and experts! You know your own objectives; you know what you want to climb and how to go about it. Equipped with this knowledge, you are the best person to determine the usage (and difficulty) of each hold.
